Preparing Home Guard Soldiers for Real-World Traffic Challenges Through VR

A Virtual Reality training solution that prepares Home Guard soldiers to manage traffic regulation with confidence, mastering hand signals, road rules, and de-escalation in realistic, high-pressure situations.

Traffic regulation is an essential Home Guard task that requires precision, awareness, and calm decision-making. Traditional training can be logistically demanding, dependent on location, vehicles, and large groups of trainees. To overcome these limitations, a Virtual Reality (VR) training solution was developed, offering soldiers a realistic and repeatable environment to practice traffic management safely and effectively.

Using a VR headset and hand controllers, trainees step into immersive scenarios that simulate real road situations. They learn proper hand gestures, interpret traffic flow, and respond to challenging interactions with road users, all within a fully controlled, digital setting. The simulation can recreate high-stress moments, helping soldiers practice de-escalation techniques and communication skills that are critical in maintaining safety and authority on the road.
